ACronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack

Thread needs solution

I want to be able to Restore to Dissimilar Hardware and am thinking of buying the Plus Pack. Has anyone used this with any success?

I'm also interested in this feature. A neighbor tried it and it didn't work. What I noticed was that in the Universal Restore dialog window, while it gives you the option to choose the driver folder, it doesn't go one step further as in previous UR processes and let you choose the INF file of the driver.

We thought that maybe the software was now written so that choosing the folder in which the INF file resides was sufficient and the process would automatically find the INF file, but we didn't find this to be the case.

Anyone else tried this and was successful?

I would think that anyone serious about their data would be seriously considering this product. If you can only use Acronis True Image Home 2010 to restore to the same hardware, what happens if you machine is stolen or destroyed? It is important to store data in a different location and is conceivable that all your backups will be useless if something happens to the original hardware. That is why a product like the Plus Pack is necessary for anyone serious about storing data.

Am I right?

Well, you are right, but there has been a UR feature that has been available for the Workstation/Echo versions of True Image and it works here. It is only now that it has been introduced into the Home version, although the implementation of it seems to be faulty.
