Acronis True Image Home 2010 Upgrade

Thread needs solution

For the paid for download of True Image Home 2010 Upgrade,
is it an ISO file, or the trial download where you enter a serial number?
Is the upgrade a full version, or does it require that a previous version is installed?
Do we need to uninstall the older version or does it write over the older version?

The upgrade version has a normal Windows type installer.

The upgrade version is a full version with the added install feature in that it checks to see if you have a previous version of TI installed.

If you haven't uninstalled the previous version, you'll just need to enter your 2010 serial number.

If you have uninstalled the previous veriosn you'll need both serial numbers.

Any program download from TrueImage is a standalone program and does not need a prior install.

1. If you have the trial version installed, you can add the serial number to make a full version so a new install is not necessary.

2. You can do a install over the top or a repair install if the installed version is also 2010.

3. if you have a currently installed 2009 version, then it should be uninstalled and a fresh install of 2010.

4. From your registration page of either 2009 or 2010, there is additionally a separate download available of an ISO file for either version. The ISO is different from the Rescue CD created inside a Windows install of TrueImage. The iso file needs to be burnt to CD and offers several hardware options not available on the normal Rescue CD.

5. Write your serial number and version/build number on any Rescue CD that you create and retain all that you create.
