May I be the first to suggest that Acronis address the scads of problems in their current edition before releasing a new edition?

Still it's good that there looking forward, added it to my Asus EEE, works fine.

What is the difference between Acronis True Image Home 2011 Home & Acronis True Image Home 2011 Netbook Edition
Help??

The netbook edition, works on Atom and similar processors - TIH doesn't. The Netbook edition won't work on x86 style processors.

That's just wrong. TIH works on atoms.

The Netbook edition won't work on x86 style processors.

Atoms are x86 too. But Netbook edition will not install on CPU's other than the ones that are mostly installed in netbooks.

if we cant fix this how do i go about unregestering so i can bring the product back for the laptop edition?

Matthew,

No one here in cyberland has any idea as to what guy told you anything. Perhaps a more detailed explanation would be useful.

Was the person who gave you advice someone from Acronis presales support? Were they a retailer or just a random guy at the bar in the pub?

If you purchased it from a retailer, then I would think the consumer law in your country would allow you to take the goods back and ask for an exchange or refund as they are not fit for the purpose and you took the sales persons advice and they gave you incorrect advice.

If it was from Acronis direct, then I suggest getting in touch with Acronis Sales,, explain the problem to them, with details of your purchase - and they might be able to do something for you.

Some more details about your laptop - it's CPU for example would help to know if the problem is the incorrect software or something else.

You don't even state what it is it doesn't do apart from it 'doesn't work'!
What doesn't work? It won't install, it has an error message that it can't be installed on your system, it installs but won't start?

Hi, the guy was from pc world. I've attached on the thread above a screen shot showing ur program error msg and the hardware detAils your support site asked me to do. If u can't seeit I will repost. As I have registered it, is there a way to un register so I can return it for the laptop version?

What is CPU type ( you can see it in system properties if you press windows key+break ) ?
This is list of supported ones http://kb.acronis.com/content/15313

The reply at 21.17 above has the system detail file. It is an i7 64 bit laptop not netbook

I have got my money back from pc world, u need to de register my account please

Why didn't you just exchange it for the correct product, was there a price difference?

To deregister the serial number I think you'll either have to email Acronis sales or PM one of the Acronis moderators.

I've swapped to the pc 2010 version. So I will register thaf one. The netbook version they might try to sell so it needs to be un registered from my account. Do u have the email of who i need to email?

There doesn't seem to be an Acronis person here at the moment, why not PM Yana at Acronis who has posted at the top of this thread.

Clone hhd in laptop to 2.5 SSd drirve
Load up computer load dcd and make rescue media disk. I didn't need this DVD in the end.
Buy docking station that matches both drives.
Put in acronis DVD back in to computer and switch off.
Leave main drive in computer
Put new drive in dock and plug into computer
When computer powers up it will go to cd insted go loading windows and pick full.
Pick clone disk
Clone disk in computer to new drive in dock
Took the drive out of laptop and swapped with new SSd.
Powered up laptop and to worked as normal straight away.
Put old drive into dock and cleaned ready for eBay,
Great

disk copy does not copy the rest of the software is stuff i do not need eg fluff
why market a product that is a faulty

i will never yes never buy this or other product from this company

also if its the only program for disk image copying
huge waste of my time!

Jason,

If you could post your problem in a coherent manner, others might be able to help you.

What version of TI do you have?

What were you trying to do?
