Acronis True Image Home 2011 - Persistent Plus Upgrade Available Message
I have build 6857 installed for Home 2011 and Plus Pack on a Vista Premium SP2 operating system. On software startup there is a continuing message that the Plus Pack 2011 upgrade (build 6857) is available for download and installation - this has started only since I upgraded the Plus Pack. Any ideas on how I can rectify the situation?

I have followed your advice but no change. On my last attempt following the successful reinstall of ATIH 2011 (build 6857) I noted that in Windows Programs and Features before I tried to install the build 6857 Plus Pack there is an existing program listed in the P's under "Plus Pack for Acronis True Image Home 2011" date "15.2.11" and file size "84.3MB". I then tried to uninstall this version (the only available option) without success. The uninstall process starts - "Preparing to remove" - then a user account control popup advising "Update 14.0.6696 Acronis" wants access - if I cancel it reverts to the Programs and Features screen - if I allow I get a "wait while configuring ATIH 2011 for Plus Pack" message which is followed by an error message "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2356." The OK selection takes me back to the Windows Programs and Features screen.
I still cannot uninstall this Plus Pack version and it is not recognised by ATIH 2011 in its "About" page which is showing only the correct ATIH 2011 serial key. This installation state of ATIH 2011 also reported that there were no new updates available for installation i.e. no Plus Pack upgrade.
I then manually downloaded the website Plus Pack upgrade fiel (build 6857) and started the installation - a "Modify or Repair or Remove" popup appears in due course. Remove does not work but repair does eventually advising that the Plus Pack application has been successfully repaired.
I was eventually able to install Plus Pack 2011 build 6857 (by providing both the 2010 and 2011 serial keys) which has been recognised by ATIH 2011 on its "About" page including the Plus Pack 2011 serial key. I am still getting the Plus Pack update installation available messages in ATIH 2011. In addition there are now two (2) versions of the Plus Pack showing in Windows Programs and Features and I am still unable uninstall the older version which is not recognised by ATIH 2011 at one level but must be still triggering the update available message.
Is there any other way I can detele/uninstall the earlier version? Perhaps this would correct the problem? The operating system is Windows Vista Premium 32 bit SP2 on a Dell laptop.

I appear to have resolved the problem by finding reference to and applying the Acronis Cleanup utility in Grovers ATIH guides and the delete functions provided by the MS DevCon utility discussed elsewhere on the Acronis site as Windows Programs and Features proved ineffective in uninstalling Plus Pack (see previous comment). Judging by some of the similar upgrade installation difficulties other Acronis ATIH users have encountered it seems to me that the existence and usefulness of these tools should be given greater prominence on the site as an available option subject to the sort of riders identified in both the Acronis and MS guides.
I decided to try to wipe the system completely clean of all Acronis products using these utilities and start over again. The combination of both utilities removed all references to Acronis from my system. To my immense relief it all went off according to plan and the reinstallation of the ATIH and Plus Pack 2011 build 6857 applications was completed succesfully without any error messages or other problems. Tonight I will try out a normal disk backup to make sure it is operating normally.

I also got stuck with this repetitive "upgrade" issue ... spent lots of hours trying to get things right .. in the end I fixed it .. at least it says I have the latest version by
- downloading ATI and ATIPP build 6857
- repairing ATI from this file
- removing ATIPP build 6875 from the dl'd file
- repair ATI 6875
- I had the file for build 6696 in my archive. Because the culprit seemed to be build 6696 for ATIPP, I did use that file to remove build 6696 ATIPP. That took near TO ONE HOUR!!
- then fresh installed ATIPP 6875
.. & BTW .. apparently the nonsensical calculated time for validation is back, despite the fact that I spent reading hours of forum entries saying that it was fixed .. just got a read of 39963 days for a 41 minutes disk image backup ... :-(

I have been getting the same repetitive "upgrade" issues as others. I simply de-selected the "automatically check for updates on startup" and got rid of the annoyance. I checked the "Help/About" window and see that it reports Update 2/build 6857. Having a little time now to research the forum, I see that I may have a problem after all. My past experience with Acronis leads me to believe that chasing down and fixing errors in ATI is pounding sand down a rat hole. I just don't have time to waste.
It would be nice to have Acronis get their act together after all these years. Unfortunately, I think they will limp along with what they have because there does not seem to be enough incentive to do a good job.

The disk backup was completed successfully and the application appears to be working OK - touch wood. Although I am only a rank amateur in such matters it seems to me that the apparent separate existence of the Plus Pack outside the base Acronis ATIH program (as reported in Windows Programs and Features) carries with it the potential for Plus Pack to be overlooked and/or orpahaned in an upgrade or uninstall process. I must admit that it never occurred to me to deliberately go looking for an Acronis program listing (for a product sold as an enhancement to ATIH) in the P's in Windows Programs and Features - it seems like a case of the proverbial quick and dirty programming option winning out over a more thoughtful and resource intensive integration of the enhancement into the base product code and file structures.
I am keeping the Acronis Cleanup Utility and MS Devcon software files on my computer for possible future use as I do not want to again spend days trying to rectify poor product upgrade results through the usual channels known to non-expert users such as myself.

I recently had this issue also, the issue of having the latest version installed but the program telling me there was an update. It was simple for me to fix. I found that both the Plus Pack build 6696 and Plus Pack build 6857 were installed (but only ATIH build 6857), so I just downloaded ATIHPP build 6696, and did the "remove" function from the installer. That removed the previous build and now only build 6857 is installed for both ATIH and PP, and the program rightly says that there are no new updates. I hope this helps.
