Acronis True Image will disturb Reading Smartcards or other Cards on a cardreader

Thread needs solution

I am a german True Image 2012 user with Windows XP (SP3), i am 69 years old and programmer since 1969. So I think I can find so many mistakes but one from Acronis True Image I never find the symbol (gears) for Stop Non-Stop Backup(afcdpsrv.exe) services!
This Acronis non-stop-Backup part disturb reading Cards in a cardreader or Iomega Zipdrives when it is on, and I get the information to put the card into the drives (but they are in the drives)!
So I have to take Windows (sorry for german words) Systemmanager "Verwaltung" / "Dienste" to stop the Non-Stop Backup services ("beenden")and set it from "automatic" to "manuell".
In this Moment alle problems where gone, and I see the directory of the cards or Zip Disks.
Sorry, sometimes I missed the right english words, because I finished my programmer time at 2005 and write not so oft something in english.
I hope for some good answers. Thanks! Karl - Heinz

I am experiencing the same issue and must kill the process to access my SD card. I have a work around but it is inconvenient. The process that is "locking" my removable drive is afcdpsrv.exe. I must kill this process to access the drive's directory or files.

Thanks for posting this! I was wondering why my card reader didn't work. I would have never suspected Acronis. I hope there will be a proper fix for this issue.
