Acronis TrueImage 2012 boot media won't work on my Sony laptop
I'm using Acronis TrueImage 2012, build 7133.
I run this from the boot media (it is not installed on my computer).
It works fine on my desktop computer running Win 7 Pro, SP1.
However, it will not boot om my Sony laptop running the same OS.
Boot attempts yield the following message:
Failed to detect graphic output mode
Boot into Acronis will not continue.
I have been looking for a phone number where I can talk to customer servive or tech support, but cannot find one on the web site that doesn't ask for payment.
Can you help?

No, it's running Win 7 Pro, SP1 (same as my desktop).

I believe there are issues with many Sony laptops, due to Sony's unusual drive layout. You could search this forum for similar threads, or wait for someone who's familiar with the issue.

While what you say may be true, I don't believe that's the issue here, based upon the error message. Seems to be an issue with the Sony graphics, don't you suppose?
If Acronis didn't make it impossible to talk to a real person (without paying), this issue probably could be resolved with a 30-second phone call. I'll bet they could send me a boot media ISO that would work with my laptop. Instead, they'll probably lose me as a future customer.
Bad business plan, in my opinion.

Regarding the issue with bootable media I would first of all ask you to follow this guide to check if the correct video mode can be selected manually.
If it doesn't help please check if the problem can be resolved with trial bootable media of True Image 2013 by Acronis (I'll send you a download link via PM).

I will try your suggested work-around (can't do it right now).
I also downloaded the trial 2013 ISO file, but based upon other comments in thread 33773, I don't believe that this issue was solved in TI 2013.
I'll give it a try.
