added plus pack for 2011 home and get visual basic C++ error after starting ATI

I added the plus pack to ATI home 2011 so that it could work with the dynamic disks that I have, but now when I start ATI, it will crash with a visual C++ runtime error after starting the program for ~ 60 sec. If I uninstall the plus pack, it works fine, I just can't backup my dynamic disks. I am running windows XP pro sp3. anyone have any ideas? The update utilitiy says I have the latest ATI2011, but it won't run the update utility when the install for plus pack asks if you want to use an updated version.
