all pc's backed up to server. how to recover partial and not whole drive sector by sector..Quickest Recovery?

Thread needs solution

We're on acronis 2013 all pc's backup to a drive on server 2008R2
Today i did some windows updates on htpc windows 7 machine. well it wiped out my hdmi audio, so i tried Windows system restore, and it only had 2 restore dates (Nov. 6th, and 4th) and none of the restores restored successfully.

So i figured i'd acronis restore/recover. i opened acronis chose restore, it found the most recent acronis backup in the network location, and then a popup popped up stating it had to restart, once it restarted it opened acronis for a few seconds and i had time to catch no raid disks found plus more text i couldnt catch, and then acronis disappeared.

then i went and grabbed acronis boot disk, put that in, and chose the workgroup pc/location and now it is restoring to this morning but a full sector by sector restore(yes i made sure sector by sector was unticked)

Is is possible on machines that save backups to server to restore from server while in windows mode? if not is it possible to just do a restore when using the disk? so one doesnt have to wait for a complete reinstall/restore? i was hoping i could just simply restore the pc back to 11am this morning, without having to do a complete install.

Thanks for any help/suggestions you can offer.

P.S after waiting about 20 minutes (SSD) she's back and running to this morning at 11am, and my hdmi audio is fixed. But i'd still like suggestions please.

Do at least try to do a restore from the server when booted from the TI Recovery CD.

If you have a disk failure, the recovery will have to be from the CD so you need to know if it works for your hardware.
