Are Acronis Startup Cd's universal to all Windows OS's
If I update my Win 7 Pro 64bit PC including the motherboard...will my original Rescue CD created on old motherboard A work with the new system with upgraded motherboard B ?
Or...is the Acronis rescue CD supposed to be universal for any hardware used...or changed...at least for Windows ?
Thanks...TRinAZ

There is only one kind of bootcd that is created when you make it with ati. You can download an iso for a bootcd from acronis.com (login and go to updates) and that one is sometimes a bit different, either with a different loader or slightly diff drivers, but other than that it's one for all.

OK...thanks guys...then if I understand correctly...it doesn't matter what computer or system the Recovery CD is created on...it should boot to the Acronis Recovery Manager on any system it is placed in provided the system bios is setup correctly ?

When you create the recovery CD on any computer, it should boot on any computer (independently of the Acronis Recovery Manager).

One more issue I forgot...does it matter whether it's a CD, DVD, Double Layer DVD...etc ?

It would only matter in regards to the drive reading the disc. For example, you can't boot a DVD in a CD drive. Also, some drives don't like certain types/brands or media. The actual TI data on the discs would be the same.
