I don't know the answer to your question, but the trial version is available and I believe you can download the trial version of the recovery ISO if you don't want install the Windows based version.

I don't know what that is. You could download the 2103 trial and, once you register its serial #, you can download the bootable Rescue Media to see if that can see your hardware.

EDIT: Colin beat me to it as I was typing. :)

Based on the information I can see on the Areca website, you should be able to backup from, and restore, to the controller without issues while Acronis True Image runs from within Windows (since the controller has Windows drivers). To be able to do a restore (or backup) from bootable media (Acronis Rescue Media - CD/DVD/USB Flash drive), you may have to purchase the True Image Plus Pack, and create Windows based (WinPE) True Image Rescue Media and additionally inject the 32 bit drivers for the controller into the WinPE image to support the controller. The drivers necessary for injection are on the Areca FPT site. The standard Linux based Acronis Rescue Media more than likely will not have support for this controller built in, and you can not update the drivers on the Linux based Rescue Media.
