ATI 11 Home: Restore problem - SATA

Thread needs solution

ATI 11 Home (Build 8101)

Operating System: Windows 7 / 64-bit

Scenario:
I'm testing out a restore from my external e-sata drive to my internal sata drive.

Problem:
Restore from BootCD - Internal SATA drive isn't there. It's a Western Digital caviar black 1 tb if that matters.

Could someone please advise what to do or pass me along a lovely ISO that recognizes SATA drives.
Thanks for help.

Greetings MP,

Thank you for taking the time to post on our Forum, I will be very glad to be of assistance.

Additionally, I would like to thank shadowsports our MVP for his thoughtful insight and efforts as always.

We apologise for the inconvenience the issue must have caused on your part. Unfortunately, as you may be aware, Acronis True Image Home 2011 has not been developed for over two years now, and that the possible hardware incompatibility issue that you are experiencing may very well be the outcome of this.

For your recovery operations, I can propose the Trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2012, as operations such as restore, mount, explore can be carried out on backups from previous versions of Acronis True Image Home. Please see the respective Knowledge Base article that highlights these features from the backward compatibility table.

Upon downloading and installing this edition, you may create a trial Bootable Rescue Media and perform your recovery operations without any issues regarding device recognition.

After attempting to perform your recovery task with Acronis True Image Home 2012 and you still experience difficulties, please notify me and I will happily further investigate the matter and provide you with the appropriate solution.

Please feel free to write to me in person via a PM or contact Acronis Customer Central, if you do have additional questions or comments.

Thank you for your consideration.

Kind regards,

Thanks for feedback.

(1) I'm not using Acronis True Image Home 2011; I'm using Acronis True Image 11 Home as indicated in my original post. Common mistake I'm sure.

(2) Although I'm sure your trial ATI Home 2012 version will work, I've decided to go with an alternative product.

thanks,
Mike
