ATI 2010 and 2011 boot cd doesn't recognize intel raid volume on ICH8 chipset
Hello,
I'm having a system with ICH8 chipset and a Adaptec raid controller. However, the raid controller is giving me issues (getting too hot). So I am planning to go to the onboard Intel Raid controller. What I did so far is:
- Enable the Intel Raid Controller (no disks attached)
- Install the drivers from WindowsXP for the Intel Raid Controller (still no disks attached)
- Created a backup of the system with ATI 2010, build 7046 to an USB disk
- Disconnected the drives from the Adaptec board and connected them to the main board
- Removed the Adaptec board
- From the BIOS, created a logical volume on the Intel Raid (raid 1, mirroring).
- Booted the ATI 2010 rescue disk to restore the backup. However, ATI does not show the raid volume at all! So I cannot restore the backup to the new raid volume.
As a resort, I tried a ATI 2011 (14.0.6857) boot cd as well, but that one doesn't show the raid volume either. Does anybody know a solution for this?
I try to prevent re-installing WindowsXP from scratch here...
