ATI 2011 Differential Backup performing a FULL backup before it should

Thread needs solution

I am on ATI 2011 Build 5519. I created a CUSTOM backup using the differential method as suggested by Acronis - it is supposed to create 5 differential's before doing a FULL backup then delete any chains older then 7 days. I looked in my backup folder on a NAS server I have - and the "differential" is about the same size as my original backup. The original backup name was LAPTOPC_D_G1(1) with a size of 179,137,027KB and the "3rd" differential name is LAPTOPC_D_G1(2) with a size of 178,997,314KB while the differential sizes for the 1st and 2nd differentials were under 3 gig. When I look in ATI you only see one backup. So I am not sure if the (2) was a full backup and it isn't showing it to me or it is a differential which is basically the same size as the original backup.

Any guidance or help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Drew,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum. I will certainly help you with this problem.

Most likely the differential backup that gets created is a full backup. There is a known issue in our software with this, but to make sure this is the case I will need to take a look at your backup settings.

Please create a a number of screenshots from your backup wizard and settings. Update 1 will have this problem addressed though, we are planning on releasing it very soon.

Let me know if you have additional questions please.

Thank you.

Hi there,
Any plans on the release date?
I have the very same problem (and it's not the only one, as I have written a month ago in another thread.).

Regards

The latest build SEEMS to finally performing a differential backup, because it doesn't say: 12 HOURS REMAINING or so...
