ATI 2011 - Wake From Hybernation?
The new "wake from hybernation" feature was compelling enought that I decided to download ATI 2011 and take it for a spin.
So far - 3 days now - ATI 2011 has failed to wake the computer from hybernation. The backup runs when I wake it up several hours after the scheduled time.
Has this worked for anyone?
I also notice that backups seem to take way longer than they did with ATI 2010. A full backup of a disk with about 150 GB is taking several hours with ATI 2011. It used to take way less than that.

Backing up 150GB has always taken several hours. With TI2010 that would probably have taken about 10 hours for me, with no validation, normal compression, and no encryption. For me so far TI2011 is working 20 to 25% faster using the same parameters, HDD to external HDD.
On line backup is way faster for some reason, nearly 1Mb/s!

Thanks for replying. Windows induced hybernations. I'm running Win 7 64-bit.

It didn't work for me last Sunday morning! I'll try it again tomorrow and report back. Normally I use a scheduled task to wake up the PC from hibernation and that always works.
Currently dual-booting Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit and Windows XP - hibernation was in Windows 7 last Sunday.

Judy,
Although some of these threads are a little off-topic, you might look at:
The lack of this functionality is one of the main reasons I'm leaving Acronis, tho I haven't yet decided on the best alternative - perhaps the company that begins with "M" or the one that begins with "P." (The company that begins with "S" is just too expensive for multiple machines and I think the company that begins with "N" has gone downhill of late).

Well it worked fine yesterday! My PC woke up 1 minute before the backup was due to start - how strange!
Hope it carries on working :-)

?? Did you schedule with Acronis or with Windows Scheduler??
- I find the latter works as far as the backup goes, but won't auto-validate nor send a success email.

William,
I just ticked the box under the backup scheduling options to get Acronis to wake the sleeping/hibernating computer. I was amazed when it actually worked!

Hello,
may I join this discussion, although it`s rather late?
I also have the idea to let ATHI 2011 work alone during the night. I hope, hibernation will work on my Windows 7 x64 PC.
My question: What does ATIH do after the incremental backup on Windows 7 x64? Shut down the PC completely or go back into hibernation status or in standby? Is there a chioce when activating the scheduled task?

There is no choice from the backup options > Advanced > Computer shutdown. The computer will shutdown.
You can use a post-command to put it to sleep instead of selecting this option.

Hello Pat,
may I correct you? My ATIH 2011 wakes now since 3 days every night a 3 up, does its backup and goes after this to sleeep again.
Here is the little script wich you may store with the text editor as a cmd-file in the action fied "after backup". You will be astonished. It works fine. The file should be copied into the ATIH folder
@echo off
rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState

Wolgang,
Exactly right. That is what I meant by using the post-command.
I was indicating that choosing the option in the backup options ("computer shutdown > advanced") is about a shutdown. I will correct my post to avoid confusion.

Sorry Pat!!!
I read only your first sentence - and replied immediately - as I was so proud to overcome this bug in the scheduling scheme. I am somewhat ashamed...
Have a nice day.
