ATI 2014 Entire PC backup is SMALLER than the data backed up

Thread needs solution

I just backed up Entire-PC.

ATI says data backed up is 422GB which matches my expectation. Properties of the backup says it is 329GB.

Why the difference?

OP adding to this: I am running the backup again -- it should be an incremental thing much smaller than the first as it has been in the past (ATIH2009). HOWEVER, the screen thinks my backup drive is empty. It says I have 1TB available! (see image 03)

The incremental finished quickly and it is 0.5GB as expected.

HOWEVER, ATI says the last backup was 330GB, and that the backup drive still has all space free (image 04).

With the target storage disk attached.

Click on the operations tab and then click on the destination tab.(open location)
Post a picture of your tib backp files as they are listed inside the storage folder. Sort via date/time.

Regarding size,
the normal default size settings is NORMAL which is compressed.
Normal size of the FULL tib backup will be 65-70% of used space for whatever partitions are included within the disk.
Normal size of incremental will be whatever disk sectors has changed since the most recent backup.
Use of defrag inbetween backups can cause an increase in size. Avoid defrag inbetween incremental backups.

Thanks Grover.

I guess my backup is about 70% size of the data as you advise is to be expected.

FYI I am posting a shot of the tib files.

All appears normal so far. Please post a picture of your backup scheme. It should be something like this example except with your settings.
How many more incremental before a new full?

GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. ...Keep Full plus 6 Inc per chain. Store/Keep 4 chains. Use whatever number best fits your needs.

GH,

sorry I have not sent an image -- been busy. I've just had to restore from a PC disk backup and have questions, such as, why are my restore points from days ago missing after a restore of yesterday's C: drive? (Perhaps for another thread!)

For this thread, how do I access the screen you showed me? (Generally I find it extremely difficult to penetrate behind the quite uninformative though elegant facade of ATI to information-rich displays like this.)
