ATI 2014 looses count of incrementals
Sometimes when I do something, like edit the settings, ATI seems to forget the number of incrementals it has created for a full and needs to create more before it will create the next full backup.
I have a backup scheme that is a full followed by three incrementals. I use automatic cleanup to keep no more that two full backup sets. Once it is all stable it works as advertised. But when it looses the count, it wants to create three more incrementals before it will create the next full.
This is a problem for me with my current setup because it causes me to run out of backup space on my NAS if I don't monitor the backups closely. I have three backup schemes running and I have just enough free space on the NAS to backup the largest full that will occur before ATI deletes the earler backup set. If too many incrementals are created, it eats up my needed free space.
I've used ATI for many years. I have a pretty solid understanding of it's idiosyncracies and how to beat it into submssion. But this is one annoying trait that I haven't mastered. I wonder if anyone has some insight into how to tame this.
