ATI 2015 installation failed.

Thread needs solution

Hi.
I was using ATI 2014. I uninstalled this version with the Acronis uninstall tool to install ATI 2015.
While installing, it stopped and I got the following error:

"Installation has failed.
Fatal error during installation.
An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.6195",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="amd64"'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information."

Why I can´t install ATI 2015 ?

Tech Service just told me that it is caused by a "corrupt Microsoft NET.Framework". He provided this link for a fix: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9831986

I haven't tried it yet, so I can't verify that it solved the issue.

UPDATE- On closer inspection, I think my error message was slightly different than yours, so the information above may not apply to you...

This may help

Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package 64bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=2092
Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package 32bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=5582

Reboot and try again

Lontro.
I tried but get still the same error.
Unfortunally didn´t work.

Reinstall 2014 if you can, then just run the 2015 installer as an in place upgrade.

Doesn't work on Windows 10. OS blocks reinstall or repair of dotNet

Ananda,

Are you using the latest build of 2015 (build 6613), as only that build is possibly compatible with W10. It is compatible with W10 Preview (original), but may not work as well with W10:10240 (RTM) or 10525/10547 (both new preview builds)

Hello
I faced the same problem with build 6613 on Win 10 Pro retail version yesterday. I've wasted whole day but finally solved this problem. In my case following procedure were the solution:

1. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Packages: http://www.microsoft.com/en-pk/download/details.aspx?id=18471 and http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=5638
2. Run Windows Update and apply security updates. Make sure you have packages versions 8.0.61000 and 8.0.61001 after update.
3. Run Microsoft Module Installer service manually (I'm not sure if this is absolutely necessary, I didn't check installation without this step once I succeed)
4. Install Acronis True Image 2015
5. Enjoy ! :)

Best Regards

Marcin

That's good news Marcin, I'm still not sure if Acronis officially support the RTM and current preview versions (now 10565) of W10.

I got this message re-instaling True Image 2015 because of Windows 10...could you help me?

Eduardo,

The first thing to do is run the 2015 installer again and see if a 'repair' install will fix the problem.

If it doesn't, I'll try and recall how this problem was fixed with TI 2013/2014. The problem is that you can have more than one Microsoft.VC80.CRT installed on your PC as various program makers can provide and install their own versions of this file. Your system has become confused as to which one it should be looking at. You should not just delete the file, as other programs may rely on it similar to DLL type files.
