ATI2014: schedule2.exe (AcrSch2Svc) unexpected wakes Windows7 from sleep at a certain time

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I encounter difficulties with my ATI2014 installation on a Win7 x64 machine.

All planed backups are runing as scheduled, however at certain times, I noticed that

Acronis schedule2.exe wakes Windows from sleep at a time when none of the planed backup should run.

From cmd prompt I run:

powercfg -lastwake

result:

Wake History count - 1
Wake History [0]
  Wake Source count  - 1
  Wake source [0]
    Type: Wake Timer
    Owner: [SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\Schedule2\schedul2.exe (AcrSch2Svc)

Appreciate any thoughts on how to troubleshoot.

Thanks Bodo

Do you have "checking for updates" enabled, or using "backup to the cloud" or non-stop backup?

where can I find the "checking for update" setting?

I don't have any Backup to cloud enabled.

There is one non-stop backup in the list of scheduled backups, but it's disabled.

In the applications event log I found this entry (logged today at 00:00:05)

Acronis True Image Console:

The "Checking for updates" selection is under the Help icon...picture below.

The "Automatically check for updates" will come up after you check for an update...picture below.

Thanks, I disabled Automatically check fo updates to see if it helps

As an additional step I did an export of all my scheduled backup settings, then delete them from ATI2014

and import the settings again.

Also I run schedmgr.exe and enter "task zap". This will delete the schedule for each backup.

I then recreate the schedule for my backup to see if the issue persists.

I think I solved the issue. The Windows sleep mode preference "Put computer to sleep" was set to never.

Now I set it to 30 min, which works well
