ATIH2012 Won't install and I'm in a Rut. Error message on boot and 2012 won't install
Ok, I don't know where to start but I've known for a couple weeks my hard drive was failing. I was able to get the hard drive warrantied through WD. I received the hard drive last Fri. Over the weekend I used the ACTI WD ver. I had a hard time figuring it out but eventually figured out that when I made a image I needed to shut computer down and disconnect the old hard drive and leave the new in and it would boot.
I did the image with the previous described software. When I had the new hard drive up and running with the image installed on it I decided to upgrade to 2012 version. I had to install my old 2009 version to get the upgrade pricing since the WD version was free it didn't qualify.
After installing the 2009 version I went to the link provided by acronis and proceeded to download 2012 and move forward with the install of 2012. Part of the way in through the install it froze my PC. Now I have that drive which won't boot when trying to start the computer because of some awkward \windows\system32\drivers\snapman.sys error that keeps popping up. I even tried the windows vista disc repair with the OS installation disc with no luck at all either
I unplugged the newly created drive and managed to get my old drive booted back up though. Since I was able to get it to boot I decided to install the Acronis true image 2012 software on my old drive but I had to do the 2009 version first being that it was a upgrade I was doing. After installing the 2009 version I proceeded forward and installed the 2012 version downloaded from the acronis site off of my account. I never restarted the computer because of fear of the PC not wanting to boot now that I have the previous Acronis software on this drive. Most of the way through the 2012 installation the computer rolled back the install. I uninstalled the WD version of Acronis, the Drive monitors from Acronis and the 2012 version d still won't install.
I'm stuck in a rut, I don't want to turn this computer off because if I do I may or may not be down. Is there anyway to download the 2012 version and burn it to a disc and either run the software from the disc or in a non OS environment to allow me to copy the new drive or repair the newly crated drive? It seems that ATIH 2012 has crashed my new drive.
Please bring music to my ears and tell there's a small easily fixable file that's missing that I can fix in lees than a half hour and be back up and running but that's probably not going to happen. Just a extra note. I'm not a big backup person because I've never had a drive fail but 1 time and I was running raid then. I knew I should've put raid in this computer but now I learn. I have about 275GB of data combined that I don't want to have to sift through manually as most of it is pictures and more videos.
Any help on getting this sorted out would be greatly appreciated. Any help on when I get this fixed and creating a raid from a installed OS would be great as well so I don't have to go the complete install method. The PC is only 2 yrs old with a dual core with a M3N78-VM Mobo, NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT Video Card, 4GB Memory, 2 640GB hard drives, Blu Ray BD Rom and DVD Burner from LiteOn. It's nothing elaborate but it does what we want it to do around here.
Thanks DN

I was able to boot atih2012 with iso but I continually get a snapman.sys corrupt file message even when using the OS disk to try to do a repair. I dont want to do a reinstall yet as I need to get a list of all of my programs first. Im irritated about this because with each installation of atih the end result has been a non bootable OS. There should be some way to fix this snapman.sys error one would think. I've spent an extraordinary amount of time on this trying different hard drives in which I've copied a clone of the original disk. Is there some way via USB to fix this corrupted file? I have a USB to SATA adapter that allows me to explore a hard drive. Each clone I've created has been roughly the same size as the hard disk so I just need a fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HELP!!! I purchased and download ATIH 2012 from the website. I attempted to install, it hung up and would not clear, rebooted and had to rebuild WinXP to get my computer back up. Since then I did finally get my old C: drive cloned to my new drive via DVD. Now I am ready to use the backup feature ... so with fingers crossed attempted to install ATIH 2012 again ... same thing happened ... it hangs up and will not move. When I request to cancel the install it asks me if I really want to .. I say Yes .. nothing happens. I finally used CTL=ALT=DEL to kill the job that said it was 'still running'.
I have never had so many problems trying to install a program in my life.
When I go to the website for technical support it says I only had a 30 day support and it has expired. That too I have never heard of ... 30 days of support?????
I really need help getting ATIH 2012 and Plus package installed (never got to Plus pgm yet) so I can use the backup feature ... unfortunately, I get zero information from the software .. no error codes, nothing .. it just sits there at about 90% of the bar filled ... and does NOTHING!!
Can someone help me?

Dale:
Sounds like we are having the same problems with Acronis. I did get my drive cloned with the ISO finally but it messed up both my mouse and monitor so I had to upgrade all my drivers again.
I wanted to know if you ever got the backup version of ATIH 2012 installed. I keep hanging up and get ZERO error messages ... it just hangs up. I tried to cancel, it asks if I really want to cancel, I say Yes but it does not cancel. I finally had to CTL=ALT=DEL ...
I wondered if you would share how you got your ATIH 2012 to run since no more messages and it has been two months. I bought my program in January so my support warranty has expired.

Lady Bonita,
Try one more thing.
Restart the install file again and this time, once you put the serial and the install really begins,
let the install run--even for an hour. It should produce a success or fail message.
If you get a fail message, restart the install program again and click install and then see if you get a repair option.
If the repair option appears, then select the repair.
You indicate you are using XP but what brand of computer?
