Attempted recoverery of Windows 7 PC results in "BootMgr is Missing" message
Hi
Please could anyone explain why True Image Home 2010 failed to restore my PC? My PC is now up and running minus some files thanks to the Windows installation disk but I'd like to know whether or not this program works. The box my software came in has an orange splash in the corner saying "also works with Windows 7". The first time I tried to use the software it appears to have let me down
I'm running True Image Home 2010 in non-stop backup mode. I attempted to recover my entire PC to an earlier time to undo some changes I'd made with my printer software. When I attempted to reboot all that would happen was that I'd get a message "BootMgr is Missing". Searches on this forum (eg 3697) suggested that came up with some suggestions all of which I tried but nothing seemed to work.
In the end, in desperation, I selected an option from the Repair section of Windows installation disk to search for for other backups on my machine. That recognised a backup made by TIH 2010 and recovered my system - but to a few days earlier than the one I wanted.
If anyone can shed light on how I should have used TIH 2010 to recover my PC I'd be grateful.
Regards
Steve
