Authentication Settings - Connection Failed

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I am starting to use True Image 2014 Premium for the first time but I'm running into an issue. I'm booting off the disc and backing up an image to a server over the network but it's not allowing me to like it does with the 2012 version I have been using previously.

When browing for the location to save the backup and entering in the IP address of the server, it prompts an "Edit authentication settings" window which I enter in my network credentials. This screen says "Connected successfully". However, when I click on the folder I want to save the backup to on that same server, it prompts again for credentials and this time I get "Connection failed. Please verify user name and password." even though I'm using the same credentials.

The 2012 version works fine in the same scenario and does not prompt a second time for credentials like 2014 is.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

What OS you running? There have been other users running Win 8.1 with TI 2014 with same problem. Not sure if they found a fix or not.

Not for certain here but I am thinking this problem with 2014 has to do with sercurity or permissions, not necessarily in that order. You might try giving 2014 full Admin priviledges on your server to see if that helps. Could also be the hidden Admin account on either or both machines causing the issue.

Thanks for the reply. Is 2014 no longer compatible with Server 2003 somehow? I tested with the same credentials to an offsite 2008 server and had no issues. 2012 Acronis works with both.

No compatibility issue that I know of.
