Auto recover

Thread needs solution

I want to create a backup image and make it very simple to reapply the image - ie - put the DVD in and have it boot up and automatically recover the image. Is that possible? If so which Acronis is best?

Thanks

If recovering a disk or partition image, it's recommended to do so from the ATI bootable Rescue Media. The Rescue Media can not be automated.

It could be dangerous to do so. Part of the process is to select the target disk that the disk/partition image will be restored to. Obviously it's important that the right volume is selected.

What can be done is to put the image and recovery environment onto the same DVD, however, you still have to manually select the image on the DVD to recover though.

The problem with this is that your image can never be up to date unless you either make a number of DVDs, or your situation only requires reocvery of a 'master' image.

It might be possible if using a WinPe environment to pass a task to Windows scheduler that calls TI, but I haven't tried that.

Another alternative would be to look at ABR11.5 Workstation as this has a command line option, it might be possible to make a script to autorecover a fixed name image, again this would be in a WinPe environment, and again, I haven't tried this.
