Automating a boot recovery
Hi there,
I have created a boot disk which contains an image created by Acronis.
I am able to recover the image onto a PC using the boot disk and all is well.
However - I was wanting to know if it is possible to simply insert the disk and boot the PC and the whole recover step through process has been automated and removes the requirement to have a human enter the settings?
Is it possible to automate this at all?
There is one .tib file that contains two partitions (C and D).
Any help on this would be appreciated.
(not sure if this is going too far - but perhaps if there is a password assigned to the image (.tib) file - this would be the only intervention required by the user?

Thanks - the instructions say that this can be done but dont clearly state how to do this - e.g. it says " The One-Click Restore is the minimal addition to a disk backup stored on removable media".
How do I make this happen?

Do I need to buy the "Acronis® True Image™ Home 2012 Plus Pack" to enable the one click option?

I assume that you use Backup & Recovery 11 product. (or 10) This option (checkbox) is located in 'backup options' during creation of backup plan, or in 'default backup and recovery options' in machine options. To have this option available, you need to install 'bootable components and media builder' component on the machine with agent. In case of standalone version (not Advanced) it's installed by default (as all components are installed there).
If you use True Image, you'll receive more correct answers if you ask this in that forum section.

ok, I have a TIB file on my hard drive that contains an image from a PC that I took the other week. I created the image by removing the HDD from the PC and connected it to a USB interface and created a backup this way on my laptop.
I have an ISO image which is a boot disk - I have put the TIB file into this ISO image. When the PC is booted, I choose the .tib file to restore and configure the partitions etc.
What do I have to do to to recreate the boot disk so that it operates with the One Click option?

IIRC, option of adding 'one-click restore' is only available during backup creation - you can't take a .tib file, a bootable media with 1CR option and combine them. You have to retake the image and in backup options check 'one-click restore', assuming, as I said, that we're talking about Backup&Recovery product (that looks like this -

Ok so is this option not available for True Image Home?

Thanks volker. Is it possible to add this to an already created ISo image of a boot disk containing a full backup of a hard drive so I can do a silent restore?

No, that's not possible. You need to create a new full backup of an entire hard disk.
