Back up just the file sand folders only - Picky Question about Back Up Sets

Thread needs solution

I am about to purchase this software as CMS's bouceback professional that I have is no longer working with windows xp and their support site and moderators are awful.

Here is my question:

What I liked about BounceBack is that I can backup data incrementally and when I went to the drive that was backed up on it essentially was just a copy of the files and folders exactly as I had specified I wanted them backed up. For example let's take "My Docs" in that folder there "My Pictures" "My Videos" etc and when I went onto the backup drive it looked and was exactly like the drive it was backed up from with no proprietary formats or folders or other junk.

I basically use backup software as an easier to use copy and paste. The trial I had looked like it backed stuff up like I want but it is an a folder called My backups then a folder called Acronis the all the various folders inside etc. Some of these look proprietary to the software.

I know this is picky but I want to be able to use the backup at multiple locations without having to worry if Acronis is on there or any other functionality issues. And just want the files and folders I tell it to back up.

Does this make any sense? Thanks in advance for reading this and sorry it's so long.

Acronis products do not backup or image in an open fashion. Both types will be in a container file with a tib suffix. Inside the tib file they will be laid out (in a files and folders backup) the same as the source disk, where they can be explored.

BUT!

The new sync function might be more to what you are looking for as this will synchronise two folders with no containerisation or compression. However, one thing to note about the Sync feature is that it is a live two way function, so if you remove or alter a file on the copy folder it will alter the source folder to match, same as if you delete a file in one place it will be deleted in the other.
