Backing up to mapped drives in Windows 8.1 Pro

I am trying to setup a scheduled backup to a mapped drive that I can get to through My COmputer and have full rights to the folder but True Image errors out when trying to backup to the mapped drive. I get username and password error. This has happened since version 2012 and I am looking elsewhere for a backup solution that will work. Can I get some help.
