Backing Up Music - any degradation for quality on restore?

Thread needs solution

Pardon my ignorance, but I have a lot of music some of which is broadcast on radio. Sound quality is important for this. The files are in various formats - MP3, WMV, FLAC etc etc and I'm wondering if Acronis compresses them when backing up, and thereby loses resolution or music quality if they are restored. Many have been backed up already a while ago on on True Image 2012.

Many thanks for any advice.

In a word, no. You will not loose sound quality if you had to restore.

MP3 and WMV are already compressed (lossy) formats, so Acronis will unlikely be able to compress them further. Even if it does, it will put them back to the original state on restore.

I would agree with Barthandelus. The file is retored to the same checksum as existed at time of backup.
Original file is already compressed so very little (if any) compression is performed by Acronis but the restored file would be the same as the original file. Do some testing. Do a few single file restores to a different folder and compare the file properties.

Thanks folks, looks good to me and answers a nagging question. I'll do a check for lossless as well, but it looks pretty favourable. Appreciate the input.
