Backup and restore multi disk system

Thread needs solution

Good day,

I just purchased ATI 2014 on the advise of a product specialist at Acronis. I have a specific task I wish to perform other than a standard backup with the product and even though the specialist told me the product could do what I needed I would like some feedback from some users before I jump in.

I have a custom built PC which contains 4 disk drives. Machine has 2 SSD's and 2 HDD drives. This is a Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS machine. The OS is installed on a small 30GB OCZ Vertex II drive. I knew when I did the OS install some 2 years ago that the capacity of the drive would not suffice for long and that day has come when the drive is out of available space.

So my mission is to upgrade to a larger SSD for the OS to reside so first thing is I need to know what caveats there are if any when doing a restore from a small drive backup to a larger disk?

The second issue I have to consider is that when I built the machine knowing I had limited space I installed a second SSD in the machine for application installs. Instead of assigning this drive a drive letter I decided to mount the drive inside of a folder/file on the primary C OS drive. As a result Windows sees this drive simply as a 60GB sized file. In addition, at the time of OS installation I migrated/moved the User Profiles onto one of the two HDD drives so that I could limit the number of write cycles to the Primary SSD.

This arrangement is far from the norm but it has performed beautifully since built until Win updates and such has filled the primary drive to the point of Windows warning of drive capacity in short supply.

So my question to all of you here is do any of you for see any problems with ATI handling this configuration in performing a backup/restore from small disk to larger disk?

Thanks in advance for all input.
