Backup to ASZ or ???

Thread needs solution

Following on from my previous topic, whats the best was to back up in this scenario

Having added a new drive the computer consists of the following:-

C: 64 gig SSD OS and programs only
D: 2TB Data only
E: 4TD for backups

Do I make E an ASZ b to contain the backups or leave it as a 'normal' drive and back up there?

It was suggested that having an ASZ on a dedicated drive was not required, but no reason was given.

What I don't understand is why you'd want the added complexity of the Acronis Secure Zone. I do not see the value, especially given the risks.

Don't use the Secure Zone. This was intended to be used on computers that only had one disk with no external storage available. Now that external storage is so cheap, there is no need for the Secure Zone. The security aspect of the Secure Zone can be accomplished by using password/encrypted backups.

OK, thank you

Don't even create the Secure Zone at all. As Mustang says, there's no real need for it now, it was never an ideal solution, and it has risks. Just ignore the whole feature.

Even on the laptop with its single HD?

I have a laptop with a single HD. I make backups to external HDs. I don't see the point in backing up to the same internal drive, as in a crash you'd lose your system, your data, and your backups. And, I don't like what the Secure Zone can do to a system.
