Backup fails - Failed to read data from the disk.

Thread needs solution

Acronis reports a read error but Check Disc in Windows 8.1 says the disc is fine. What should I do?

Thanks. I created the reports. I ran a chkdsk repair but the still issue persists. Decided to call Acronis support who connected to the laptop to look at the disc. They said that there are errors and I should contact the vendor. It is 4-5 years old and out of warranty so not sure what to do now.
