Backup fails to start if it ever fails due to an unavailable input

Thread needs solution

Our finance folks want their secure flash drives backed up once daily, regardless of when they get around to making them available.

We set up a scheduled backup to start daily at 12:00 AM, and retry every 15 minutes if there is an error. The intent was that a backup would be made on those days that a user made their flash drive available for a reasonable amount of time.

Unfortunately, scheduled backups that fail due to an unavailable input (the flash drive isn't inserted) never start again.

Backups that fail due to an unavailable output get completed, as expected, when the output does become available.

Is there a way to set up a schedule that will start backups when their input becomes available?

Cheers and thanks.
