Backup Failure :-(

Thread needs solution

Hi Guys

My first posting on this forum so please bear with me. I am using Acronis True Image 2015 on a WIndows 10 computer - this is used as a backup devices only.

I have two mapped drive which map to two different NAS boxes:-

Drive N maps to a Data Share on A Buffalo NAS

Drive W maps to a Data Share on a WD NAS

I have setup a back regime that performs a full backup (Files and folders) From Drive N to drive W - every 30 days performing an incremental in the days in between  this has been working fine for months.

However about two weeks ago there was a power failure and everything had to be restarted now the backup is not working at all - either it fails to complete the full backup and just sits there saying backup wait to complete and then it evenutally does complete but start doing incredmental backup every 2 hours filling the W drive up very quickly.

Any idea's what could have happened.

Many thanks

Pat

Hello Patrick,

Welcome to the forum.  From your description that this problem started after a power failure, it would suggest that something got corrupted / damaged during that event or in the recovery from it.

My initial thought would be to suggest creating a new backup task to do the same as the previous task - disable the 'broken' task from running to avoid duplication or confusion!

The new backup task would help prove that the backup scheme is still good and can create the required backup images between the two NAS drives.

If all is ok with the new task, then delete the old backup task and all its settings.

The other option is to try to investigate the broken task by downloading a copy of the Log File Viewer App from the 2016 forum and using that to look in more detail at the messages being posted in the task log files.  I suspect that the root cause of the issue here is that the Acronis Database has been hit by the power failure and the database has been corrupted for the problem backup task.
