Backup Failure -- Synology 3.2

Thread needs solution

I have the latest version of ATIH-2012.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit.
I have a Synology 410 with DSM-3.2 OS for my network storage.

ATIH-2012 fails when I try to do a network backup.

First let me say, Yes I know this has been a problem in the past... I have spent hours going through the Internet and knowledge bases etc. on the issue. I've done my homework. None of what I read was any value.

I've used Acronis with my Synology successfully in the past but now it fails with the latest version of TIH2012.

Direct network method: \\Diskstation -> fail
Mapped Drive: -> fail
ftp: -> fail

All approaches pass the 'test' which is provided to validate network connectivity without a problem. I can even use Acronis to view the file contents of existing *.tib backup files. So one would think that network connectivity is proven.

However, I get a file open error message regardless of whether I'm creating a new backup or updating an existing one.

I finally gave up and hooked up a spare drive directly. This seems to be the only consistent way that ATIH works.

Also... Even though I've been a customer for many years and don't think I've ever called support... the support policy where Acronis wants me to pay a per-incident charge for something like this is really counter-productive....

Thanks.
