Backup Media is being seen as full (when it's blank)
I originally purchased True Image about a month ago. I wanted to use it to backup my wife's laptop PC to a 250Gb Iomega USB drive that's attached to my desktop. The laptop has a 160Gb HDD in it & contains about 40Gb of data at this point. When I originality installed the program it worked great. Last week I decided to also purchase the backup & security suite as well. After installing that program, my network was no longer recognized so I had backup with the external USB drive attached directly to the PC. As soon as I begin to do a backup I receive an error message stating that the media I am attempting to back up to is almost full & gives me options to continue, ignore or cancel. If I select "ignore" the backup goes ahead & completes successfully. I was also having several other problems with the backup/security suite & finally uninstalled it. I had hoped that this would make the problem I was experiencing with the backup would go away but unfortunately it still persists. I have run chkdsk on the external drive, formatted it etc. & am at a loss at this point. I even uninstalled/re-installed True Image. Apparently some small piece of the security suite is still installed or something? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Have A Great Weekend!

Chat is available for both as far as I know.
It sounds as though the firewall rules might be preventing something from happening.
I take it this is the standalone security suite, and that you have TI 2010:6053?
My first thought was that SNAPAPI or SNAPMAN.SYS might be corrupted, but I'm not sure how installing the SS would affect these two files.
You have completely uninstalled your previous firewall utility?
If you have, and you were using a Symantec product, it may have left embedded parts behind.

Yes I am using the version that you listed.
I was using Norton Premiere 360 (V3) before. I used Symantec's uninstall utility to remove the software. When I first started using TI I was still using Norton @ that time & wasn't receiving any errors - it wasn't until after I installed the Acronis security suite that the problem occurred, I am running Windows 7 & the Acronis uninstall utility said that it wasn't compatible with that version of Windows. So I uninstalled it thru control panel. I am now using Norton Premiere 360 (V4) again. I just ran CHKDSK X/: \R on the external USB & it didn't report any errors. It must be something that the Acronis security suite installed/left behind as far as I can tell? Thanks for your response!

Like many programs (Acronis included) the uninstall doesn't uninstall everything.
Symantec for many years now uses Windows COM process to hook/claw itself into the OS. The problem with this is (MS's COM system is not friendly to work with), that it to all intents and purposes it becomes part of the OS. Removal leaves bits of it behind and sometimes removing those bits breaks the OS.
It is why I made special mention of Symantec in my first post.
I am minded towards thinking that Symantec left something behind that the Firewall of component of ABS couldn't play nice with. Now why that might cause problems for TI I'm not sure apart from they might be more tightly embedded together in the ABS than the standalone options installed together.

Makes perfect sense to me but haven't a clue what to do about fixing it! :-(

Neither do I! :)
It might be worth guggling the ether to searching for Nortons/Symantec removal or Symantec COM uninstall as the search criteria.

I went ahead & submitted a report with Acronis so hopefully someone there will know how to fix it, I'm sure I'm not the first person this has happened to. Thanks for your responses!
