backup name

Thread needs solution

when I create a backup TIH2013 keeps adding _full_b1_s1_v1 although I always select a single version full backup. In the older version I never had any problem creating new images, I always keep 2 alternate images and always overwrite the older one of the two. Now I can't seem to do that

That special suffix appears on all backups and user has no options as it will appear on each backup as a part of the backup creation.
This is part of the database tracking to keep all backups sorted. Some like it, others do not.
Here is an help file on the topic.

You can also use the program to contorl how many full backups with the program doing the deletion of the old backups without the user doing any manual deletion. The illustration uses an example of keeping a revolving 4 but you can change the 4 to fit your needs.

Click on link #2 below, and review illustration 11-full. Remember, the program does not delete the old files until after a new one has been created so my always plan to provide that extra temporary space needs.

Thanks for your answer GroverH. I'm part of the "others who don't like it" but I guess I have to live with it. The fact is that I only do full backups so a simpler name would be easier to keep up with. I always keep my OS on a separate drive, now an SSD, so the backup os the OS isn't that large. The important data I keep in the My Documents which I do not keep on the main drive and I do a separate backup of that. So in my case the string of info added by TIH is always the same so it's a pity one cannot decide not to use it.
