Backup Now Does not Work!

Thread needs solution

I created a backup that I wanted to run manually as needed.  I created this backup because my monthly backup would start running every time I opened the Acronis Application, even though it is scheduled to run the last Sunday of every month.  It would start running and no matter how many times I click "Stop" it would not stop running.  So, I created this new backup so that I could run a backup on demand.  Well this backup has it's own set of problems...

First - On the Schedule Tab I selected "Do not Schedule" and within Advanced Settings I unchecked the "Run at system startup with delay" under Missed Backup.  I click "OK" and click "Save".  When I click on the "i" in the blude circle it says "The backup is postponed".  "To run the backup, click BACK UP NOW".  Well, when I do this nothing happens, no matter how many times I click on 'BACK UP NOW'.  There is no indication a backup is running.  To make matters worse, if I go back into the Schedule settings, the "Run at system startup with delay" under Missed Backup is checked!  Everytime I uncheck the box and save, the checked box re-appears.  What gives?

Secondly - when I click on 'BACK UP NOW' for my monthly backup, the status would say "Queued".  Have not seen this before.  Normally the backup would start and the status would show "calculating backup time" and a progress line.  While showing "Queued", it would just sit there and do nothing.  Is there some option I have selected that would cause this?

Does anyone understand what's going on here??  This i svery frustrating!

It sounds like your backup is still running a schedule.

Try creating another new task but create it as a non-scheduled task using the procedures outliinked in my next link.

http://forum.acronis.com/forum/71342

The new task should have a different name than any of your other tasks and also, the storage folder name should differ

so the new task is totally new.

Delete the non-working link to prevent them from running out of contol.

What I discovered was a backup had started the night before and was still running the next day.  Apparently it ran into a quota issue and there was not space on the external drive.  When I got this message I deleted some files to free up some disk space, but apparently it was still waiting for something.  The backup job finally ended the next morning when I rebooted my system and forced it to end.  It wasn't until I got the e-mail notification that I realized this was root of my problem.

A notification like "A Backup is currently running" would have been helpful instead of clicking on a button and getting no indication as to what the issue is.

Consider setting up future tasks with automatic cleanup so the program will do the deletion before the disk fills.

This link shows some examples. All of the link may be of interest as well.
