Backup process slows down

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm using Acronis True Image Home 2009 and everything used to work fine.

The problem:

On several off my pc's the backup process slows down considerably.

I will try to explain my setup:

I have Acronis running on five desktop pc's and they all backup to the same external HDD which is connected to the network through a router.

The desktop pc's have a gigabit NIC and are connected to the router with a CAT5 cable (100mbit) as is the external HDD.

Every night Acronis creates a full system backup of every pc.

On two of the desktop pc's, the backup process slows down at times. Even after all the other pc's are done, the backup process still slows down on just those 2 pc's. The process slows down to such a rate, that it can take up to 4 hours to finish the last 20% on a ~60GB backup. If I restart the backp process it  runs at "normal" speed. Keep in mind nothing in the setup changed and it used to work fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not only does the backup process slow down at times, now it doesn't even finish at all aka it slows down so much it won't finish it seems.

**EDIT**

Last night I got the following error:

After consulting chat support I updated my software to "solve" the above problem.

After updating my software to the latest version, the problem still exists...

After consulting live chat support again, they asked me do the following:

In order to get this issue resolved please update your Acronis Program with the latest SnapAPI drivers which you can download from the link mentioned below:

The SnapAPI module is in charge of all I/O operations on the hard disk of Acronis software working in Windows. It also allows creating backups under running Windows with an unlimited number of files open for reading and writing without the necessity to reboot the computer.
Right now I would request you to run the SnapAPI drivers after you download them and install them with the disable logging option.

I did as I was told, rebooted and I left my pc to backup over night. When I came back the next morning it hadn't finished the backup. So I decided to stop it, reboot and try again. After rebooting I got a weird error message saying that something was out of date followed with the following error "Unable to open (initialize) computer".

Everytime I try to start the program I get that error.

Had another chat with live support yesterday, they told me to install a new version of the API drivers and that would make the error message go away.

I installed the API drivers provided to me and after installing I get the following error aka the same error?
