Backup & Restore dual boot system in single hard disk

Thread needs solution

A friend helped me to have Vista and XP installed in the same hard disk a few years ago, i.e. 2 partitions in 1 hard disk in my laptop. I can select which OS to boot in with the Windows boot manager.

I now want to move the whole system to a bigger hard disk. I have Acronis True Image Home 2011 EN installed in Vista. I would like to know what is my next step. I don't have the Vista DVD with me as it is pre-installed in my laptop, I only have the XP CD with me.

I have searched for existing posts, but I can only find solutions for dual boot system in multiple hard disks. Other solutions require the Vista DVD which I don't have.

The details in my "Disk 0" according to the "Disk Management" is: (I don't know why the first one has no name and I have no idea what it is)

1.
    4.88 GB
    Healthy (Primary Partition)

2. Vista (C:)
    64.14 GB NTFS
Healthy (Sytem, Boot Page File, Active, Crach Dump, Primary Partition)

3. XD (D:)
    42.76 GB NTFS
    Healthy (Logical Drive)

Is all I need to do is to backup the whole hard disk to an external drive, put the new hard disk into the laptop, and then use the Recovery CD to restore the whole thing as Grover's guide said? Do I need to register all the programs again after that?

Or I will need to do something to get the dual boot back to work?

Thank you!

Do an all-partition backup of your system disk. All partitions must be checked.
Upon completion, validate it.
Make an Acronis recovery CD if you don't have one.
Shutdown your computer.
Put your new disk at the same place as your old disk. As usual be careful with static electricity. Touch the frame of the computer as often as you can as you change the components.
Reboot on the recovery CD. Launch ATI on the CD. As you know ATI on the CD will show you drive letters that are different from Windows. Proceed with caution when choosing the partitions.
In ATI, choose add drive, select your new drive (look at the size/volume label). This will prepare it for restoration.
Then start a restore.
We are going to pretend you don't want to restore the empty partition.
Restore first your Vista partition, alone. ATI will offer you the opportunity to resize the partition to your taste. Make sure you make the target partition primary, active.
Once done, restore the XP partition. Same thing: resize to your taste. No need to reboot in between.
Finally, restore the MBR + Track 0, and disk signature.

That should work.
