Backup to SSD reverts back like Groundhog Day

Thread needs solution

I bought Acronis TI to clone my brand new HP DM4 500GB drive to a Vertex 2 SSD 120GB. I booted to the Acrois Rescue Disk and used the clone tool and had it clone all 4 partitions:
C- Primary
D - Recovery (although its no longer hidden)
E - Tools
F? - Quickweb? I think there was a 4th partition for the quickweb but its not visible (Linux I'm sure)

I restored to the SSD allowing Acronis to proportionally assign the partitions on the 120GB and when I installed the SSD into the notebook, it boots and appears to operate correctly. The problem is, no matter what software I install or files I create, if I shutdown the computer it reverts back to the moment I restored the drive. The programs I installed are gone as well as files. Think of the movie Groundhog Day and that's exactly what's happening. I was wondering if it was a System Restore issue so I created a new System Restore Point after installing a few programs and files but that didn't change anything. Also, HP has a "QuickWeb" feaure that boots quickly into a Linux OS and it will boot into that if I enable it in the BIOS but will crash after a few seconds and proceed to Windows - reverted back to its original config. Any ideas?

Do the new files remain if you just restart the computer (instead of doing a shutdown)?

Similar problems have been reported on the OCZ Forum (here, here, here, and here for example).

You could try the "Diskpart clean all" method (last link above) and update the drive's BIOS. If that doesn't help, you may want to post over there or contact OCZ Support.
