Blue Screen Of Death When Plugging In USB Flash Drive
I am very disappointed with Acronis True Image 2010. After originally purchasing 2009 I found that every time I plugged in a USB flash disk I would get a BSOD. After speaking with the online chat people they acknowledged an issue and linked me to the stable build 9709.
I was very excited to see a new version of Acronis, being 2010, but after downloading and installing over my existing stable 9709 build of 2009 to my dismay and horror the same old BSOD issue re-appeared.
I simply have no option but to uninstall the 2010 version and use the cleaner tool and then reinstall the 9709 build of 2009.
This is a show-stopping system critical bug with the program code - c'mon Acronis give this some priority and fix this issue.

It's a fairly well-known problem with some builds of TI and with B&R. Since the problem has resurfaced in TI 2010, I wonder if any of the B&R code was used. The snapapi update for B&R supposedly helps with that program, but it may introduce other problems. Only Acronis would know if there's a fix for TI 2010.
For TI reversions, I prefer restoring an image that contains the previous version instead of uninstalling and reinstalling. I think the system is more likely to come out cleaner this way.

I had the same issue in 2009, I now have the same issue in 2010, it needs to be fixed ASAP.

According to Acronis support this problem is addressed by updating the SnapAPI driver. The updated driver can be found at:

I too had similar advice from the support personel and was given a link (I suspect that link you posted was for your use and would have expiry conditions associated with it) to try and update snapapi.
I could delete or move the snapapi.dll from c:windows\system32 and then use the download SnapAPISetup program that support linked me to install a different version.
I had absolutely no success - it either made no difference at all or ATI2010 on loading would tell me that it had detected an incorrect program component and woudl fix it for me requiring a reboot. On reboot the original snapapi.dll (build 3.8.0.473) would magically reappear again.
I would have to say that I have been impressed with seemingly endless patience of the support people and constant stream of suggestions - my only complaint would be that this occurs via email with several days between each communication - and after all this time I get the impression that the developers vaguely know it's something to do with snapapi or the try and decide driver but have not managed to nail it down.
I am now only installing ATI2010 when they come up with a new suggestion to try and after each failed try am simply uninstalling and reverting back to the 2009 version build 9709 which has no issues at all with the USB flashdrive.
Hopefully they don't let the issue go - as it would appear that there's enough people having the issue to give it some priority.

Just an update on my issue:
My issue has resolved itself after a clean installation of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit version.
I have not changed hardware and have reinstalled all of the same softwares I was previously using.
In my case it would appear the issue was between ATI and Vista SP2.
I wish everyone else with BSOD issues relating to other issues all the best with a solution.
It would appear that once again I am a happy customer.

I also have TI 209 with the latest verion and when I plug in a cf card in my usb reader I get the bsod, I et the pc restart and import my pictures with no problem.
It is when you plug in the card.
tdrpm251.sys is listed as the culprit in the dump file.
I use Bluescreen View to look at the dump file
www.nirsoft.net
I have used a Sandisk reader and when the bsod started I bought a sony and still have the same problem.
So far none of the suggestions I have found have worked so looking for a new backup program.
Vista 32 Ultimate sp 2, Intel core 2 duo, 2 gb ram with all the latest updates and drivers.
Not happy
