Bootable dvd with rescue media + image.tib
Hi,
I have Acronis True Image Home 2010.
I created an usb bootable pen drive with rescue media and image.tib.
The image of my disk was divided in two parts because it is larger than 5 gigabytes.
Now I'd do the same on dvd... is it possible?
I wold like to create a bootable dvd with rescue media and image.
Thaks.

Hello Douglas,
Welcome to the Acronis forum and thank you for your post. I will definitely help you with your question.
To create a bootable backup on a DVD with the one-click restore component please perform the following steps:
- From the main program window click on the backup button to start the backup wizard.
- Go through the steps until you reach backup option.
- Click on media components and chose the one-click restore option.
- Complete the backup and your bootable DVD is ready.
Please note, that all data will be restored to its original place automatically. No options or selections such as resizing partitions will be available.
Just in case, you can check media creation steps on page 43 in our user guide and page for 45 restoration steps.
If you have additional questions please let me know.
Thank you.

Thank you for your help. I am sorry that I am so late in replying but am having a little difficulty finding my way around this site.
I probably worded my first request badly.
I have a back-up (.tib) file that I produced some time ago; and, if I use my ACRONIS recovery disc, I can restore my data ok; so, using TWO disks (1 with Acronis rescue and 1 with the .tib file) my restoration is OK.
============================================================================
What I want to do is to put the .TIB file per se, with the ONE-CLICK recovery programme, onto a single DVD.
============================================================================
I am a fairly experienced ACRONIS user and I initially used ACRONIS>DATA BACKUP>SELECTED THE [.TIB] as data> selected MEDIA
as ONE-CLICK and then went to PROCEED and the back up, to DVD, was unsuccessful. Is this because the data file is already a .tib file and
my result from this operation is a (.tib .tib) file.
Thank you for your patience with a very senior citizen.
I may take a little time to find this forum again; so it might take me a little time to find your answer.

Senexdf,
Repeat your attempt to create the one click, but do not select the *.tib file. Select the individual folders and data which were included in your original backup. In other words, you are creating another backup of the same data except you are adding the one click.
Please reread post #3 to make sure this procedure is what you want.

GroverH: thank you for your reply.
I don't have the original archive, which was a full HD backup. The originals have been 'over-written/lost' in past system upgrades/partitioning sequencing on my previous lap-top.
I use 7zZip for extracting archives from: .zip .iso files et al; but never had much success mounting .tib files. Perhaps I can mount it on an external HD using ACRONIS RESTORE ... I'm not too sure how to do this but I shall have a try at it.
If I seem a bit late on replies; I haven't found out how to navigate quickly back to this forum yet.
Thank you for your response

Don't worry about your age. I am probably older than you.
Which version of TrueImage are you using? Do you have an TrueImage installed on your computer? Are you working from the Ti Rescue CD or from within Windows?
In addition to the restore method and the mount method, there is also the explore method.
If you have TI installed, you can open Windows Explorer and browse to the backup file.
Right click on the *.tib file and choose Explore from the options. This opens a Explorer windows and you can browse inside the file to the folders you want. There you can copy and paste or drag & drop, etc.
If attempting to mount a backup, attempt to mount only one partition at a time.
One of the easiest ways to get back on the forum to where you want to go, is to drag the left edge of the top browser address bar right now from its position on top and drag it onto your desktop as a desktop shortcut. Or, your browser may enable your to right click on a blank spot and save a shortcut to your desktop.
Or, another option is to bookmark this page.

I am currently using: ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE HOME 11
ONE-CLICK functions OK with CDs but not with DVDs; I am begining to think that perhaps I need to
upgrade from HOME 11.
Thank you for your help; and putting the SHORT-CUT to the DESK-TOP will save me a lot of hassle
in future posts.

Senexdf,
I choose not use CD/DVD for my TrueImage backups but prefer to direct my TI backups to internal or external disks. Backing up to a CD or DVD can be unpredictable and there have been numerous postings of not being able to restore from this type media due to a variety of non-user causes.
You can download the trial version of 2011. Be sure and uninstall the old version before attempting to install the new version. In fact, the first thing I would do is to take the time to do a full backup of my system with your current TrueImageHome v11 so if you decide not to continue with 2011, you can simply restore the backup with the V11 still installed.

GROVERH;
I do have all my backups, .tibs and .iso, on two HDD externals.
The one that I wanted on DVD is only a small (bare-bones ... 1.5gig) configuration; a copy of my original DELL LATITUDE LAP-TOP.
I wanted to put it in the lap-top bag and then I have an 'historical' package that I can store until my great-grandchildren have a couple of more years on their backs. It's not a critical thing, but, as you will be aware of, whenever you store two inter-dependent disks one always seems to go astray.(much like a pair-of-socks in a washing machine.)
Thanks once again for your time and help

Todd,
The .tib file you have may not contain an entire disk image. It may be only a file/folder backup, or only certain partitions of your hard disk.
If your friend has 2013 installed, he/she could open the .tib file on their computer and look at what the .tib file contains.
It is indeed a full disk backup, then you could boot your system to the 2013 Rescue Media, and restore the disk from the .tib file.
If you are not familiar with True Image, I would definitely enlist the help of your friend for this project.

Yes, but be sure the drive you select to do the restore to is the correct drive.
When booted to the rescue media (standalone program), the drive letters may not be the same as in Windows.
Be sure to select the drive based on it's size and information displayed.
If the drive has a different letter than C, do not try and change the letter during the restore. It will be correct when you boot the system into Windows.
If doing a full disk restore, remember to also select the MBR/track 0 and Disk signature to restore also.
