Bootable Media Support of a RAID Controller in Version 2012

Thread needs solution

Does the linux-based bootable media created using version 2012 support the Highpoint RocketRAID 1740/1742 controllers?

I do not believe it does and I am looking for a confirmation. When booting from a CD, the RAID drive is actually seen as 2 drives using this controller. This was not the case when I used a SIL3114 based RAID controller.

Is there a way to force it to recognize the Highpoint controller?

What other options are there?
Thanks,

Hi Craig,
Many, but not all RAID controllers are supported.

If you see two disks when you should only see "one" array, the boot CD does not support your controller. There is no method to force support. If you wish to remain on 2012....

You will need the Plus Pack and can build a winPE boot disk that contains the correct driver for your storage controller.

Another option is 2013. 2013 may support your highpoint controller natively. Free to try too. Request a trial. Register the s/n with Acronis and download a 2013 boot CD. Start your system and see if the array is detected correctly.

I don't recall if highpoint controllers were supported (in 2013) so maybe one of the other MVPs can chime in here.
