Bootable Rescue Media Builder problem

Thread needs solution

I used Acronis True Image Home 2011 Build 6696 Bootable Rescue Media Builder to create an USB Rescue Media. Booting from this USB stick (Corsair Flash Voyager 4GB) says "MBR Error 2"
If I use Acronis Disk Director 11 Home Build 2121, booting from USB stick (Corsair Flash Voyager 4GB) says: nothing (attempts to boot from harddisk)
With the previous build of Acronis True Image Home 2011 I had the same problem, but Acronis Disk Director 11 Home Build 216 worked fine.
How can I boot from USB Rescue Media using both latest versions of True Image Home and Disk Director 11 Home ?

It is well known that the Acronis MediaBuilder on an USB stick may fail to create the appropriate MBR records.
I had a similar problem (ERROR 2, ERROR 1, ERROR 3 after booting) until I found a solution which may work for you:
1. Have handy: an USB stick of any size (I used a 2 GB stick) and an MS-DOS startup diskette
2. download the free HP USB Formatter tool (just Google for "HPUSBFW.EXE") to your desktop or anywhere else
3. insert the USB stick and the MS-DOS diskette into, say, K: and A:
4. run HPUSBFW.EXE
5. In the window that shows up (see attachment),
- under "Device", select your USB stick
- under "File System", select FAT32
- under "Volume Label", enter "Acronis"
- select "Quick Format" and "Create a DOS Startup Disk", using DOS system files locatec at "A:\"
6. click "Start"
7. Now you have an USB disk with an appropriate MBR (even if it is DOS)
8. In Windows Explorer, check the contents of your USB stick. It should contain 3 (hidden) files
9. Run the Acronis True Image or Disk Director Media Builder. You should be able to boot from it, as I did...
