I have 6.053 and just read where people are having trouble recovering with it. They advise uninstalling, removing Acronis from the registry and installing 6.029.
Is this true that my build is non functional?
I do not know how to maneuver the registry.
Shouldn't Acronis do something about this problem?

If you're not having problem, I wouldn't recommend installing an older build. It's generally recommended to install the latest build (7,046) if it's available in your version.

I did install 7046 as you advised; all seems well.
Now that 2011 is out, is it true I should not expect or check back for any more updates?

Acronis rarely releases an update to an older program after the new version is released. However, they do sometimes so it wouldn't hurt to check back later. If nothing has been released within six months, most likely nothing will.
