Can Acronis True Image 2014 restore an image without the boot CD?

Thread needs solution

I am a Macrium Reflect Pro user and what I hate about it is while it can create disk images within the Windows environment, it cannot restore the image and simply prompt you to reboot like Acronis does.

Can Acronis True Image still restore an image successfuly without the need to boot of its boot CD?

I have Windows 8.1 and a GPT disk with a UEFI BIOS

It is designed to be able to start a restore from within Windows. It depends. Many users can successfully do it from Windows. For some users, the reboot process doesn't work, for some others they end up with an MBR error...
The recommended option is to use a recovery CD. At any rate you have to be able to do it with the recovery CD in case you cannot use Windows on the computer you restore to.

in that case I won't be buying the 2014 version then. Just figured out how to add the Macrium Reflect to the boot menu and restore an image without the need for the CD
