Can I Run True Image 2015 from a Boot CD?

Thread needs solution

I currently have True Image 2015 Build 6613 running under Windows 7.

I use it primarily for Backup and to on occasion clone my Hard Drive.

I am in the midst of trying to upgrade to Windows 10 and have noticed that I encountered numerous issues.

I am wondering is it possible to uninstall True Image from the PC and just set up a Boot CD with True Image on it to do Backup and Drive cloning.

I would start with a Windows 7 image running True Image and uninstall True Image. I believe my upgrade to Windows 10 might run smoother. Then I could still run True Image for backup and HD cloning as needed by booting from the Boot CD.

Of course you can run TrueImage from a so called rescue media, either a boot CD or a boot USB memory stick.

You can create these rescue media from within TrueImage ( see Extras > Rescue Media Builder) or you may download an ISO file from your Acronis account and burn this ISO file to a CD. Check, whether your PC boots from a USB-stick, this is faster compared to booting from CD.

It is strongly recommended to uninstall TrueImage before upgrading to Windows 10. I suggest to run a clean uninstall as described in http://kb.acronis.com/content/48668 . Don´t forget to delete the mentioned parts of the registry keys.

After upgrade to Win10 you may install TrueImage again.
