Can True Image recover a system image created by Win7's 'Backup and Restore'?

Thread needs solution

New PC running Asus P8Z68-V Pro motherboard with Win7-64.  Unsuccessfully tried Win7's 'Backup and Restore' and then Paragon's Backup and Recovery 2011, both backing up to an external Backup-2TB WD Green EARX HDD mounted in a USB3 docking station. Both fail to restore from the USB3 dock using their recovery boot DVD.  Acronis True Image WD IS WORKING OK

Acronis TI WD writes and validates Acronis' '.tib' backups to/from the USB3 dock using the Acronis boot Rescue DVD....AND Acronis TI ALSO seems to offer to recover the backup made by Win7's 'Backup and Restore'.

BEFORE the Acronis backup, my Win7 setup developed a problem I can't fix.  So, I would VERY much like to use Acronis to restore the backup made Win7's 'Backup and Restore'.

Can True Image recover a system image created by Win7's 'Backup and Restore'? Has anybody done this successfully?

Thanks for your help.

Steve

Thanks Scott. The TI User Guide at your link site is for TI 2012 and it DOES show how to recover using Windows backup vhd files, that is recovery from a backup made not by TI but by Win7's own 'Backup and Recover'.

However, I have TI 2010 WD Edition (Build 14,157) and in the accompanying TI 2010 WD Edition Manual there is no mention of recovery using Windows backup vhd files.

But with my TI 2010 WD Edition software, if in Recovery > Browse I look at the HDD that has the Windows Backup vhd files on it, my TI 2010 WD Edition DOES show the Windows backup vhd files AS THOUGH it is offering to do a recovery from them. That's why I have asked if anybody knows if this will work for TI 2010 WD Edition?

Maybe I'll just have to try recovering to a spare HDD and then see if I can boot it!

Thanks Steve

The link I gave you take to to the documentation page which has on it a link for documentation for older versions.
