Cannot access Backup/Recovery Tab

Thread needs solution

Hey Everyone, quick question

I was using True Image 2014 on Windows 10 to create several backups for different drives. I ended up having an issue with my motherboard and had to replace it with a new one. After replacing the motherboard, I've never been able to access the Backup/Recovery Tab of True Image 2014 to create any new backups nor restore older ones.

I've tried uninstalling True Image 2014 and reinstalling it. It successfully activated, never got issues of the key being used somewhere else. Still can't access the Backup/Recovery Tab.

I even upgraded and tried using the trial version of 2017 and was still unsuccessful.

Does True Image 2014 just lose functionality now that it is no longer being supported? Do I have any choice but to upgrade to the newest Recovery software now?

Cid, welcome to these user forums.

Strictly speaking, ATIH 2014 is not supported to be used when installed on Windows 10 - only 2015 or later versions have official support for that version of OS.

I know that ATIH 2014 will work correctly on some Windows 10 systems and does not lose its functionality simply because it is no longer supported for bugs etc.  The only time when ATIH will restrict function is when using either a subscription license version or a trial version, both of which will only allow Restores of previously created backups after the trial or subscription ends.

I would suggest doing a Clean install of ATIH 2014 as follows:

First uninstall normally via the Control Panel, then download the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link below) and run this as Administrator to remove all residue of any Acronis software from your system.  Restart the computer to complete the clean action.

Download the final build version installer for ATIH 2014 from your Acronis account (if needed) and install this as Administrator.

If you have your backup storage drive connected, ATIH should scan and find your previous backup files and add these to the list of tasks.  You will need to reconfigure any added tasks and add schedule information as required.
