Cannot complete backup after backup device change

Thread needs solution

Hello

I have Acronis truImage 2014 that I use to backup my computer.
I make disk backup to an external usb JBOD device and everything was fine.
Until I decided to replace my old usb 2.0 JBOD box with a new usb 3.0 one.
I moved the disks to the new box and formatted them. Then, in Acronis I deleted the old backup definitions and created
a new backup with the same definitions I had.
But now, when trying to rin this new backup for the first time it seeems to run fine but when its about 80% through
it throws an error saying it cannot read from the backup file (see attached error.jpg file).
After that the backup cannot continue and I cave to cancel it. I tried checking the disks for errors, tried with only
one disk in the external box but got the same error.

Another thing that I noticed is that after I cancel the backup, in the backup properties, it says that this backup
has 16 or 17 versions (see file versions.jpg). And I wonder how can it have 16-17 versions if this is the first time
I ran this backup ?

Im not sure, but I suspect that Acronis true image manages some kind of an internal database that thinks I still have
the old, deleted, backup and looks for its versions (which are long gone). Maybe I should also wipe this database so
everything start anew, as if I just installed Acronis for the first time.

1. Does anyone know what the real problem is and how to solve it ?
2. If Im right about my assumption then how do I reset the internal database ?

Thanks

Guy Shilo

Yes, the records are kept in archives.xml file. If renamed or deleted, the system will recreate a new blank file so it can be renamed. The result will be a record of no backups and all tasks will need to be recreated.

C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database\archives.xml

After you do this I would again create a new task. Point the new task to a new and empty storage folder so no mixing of other tib files.
The full backup type I recommend is the "disk option" or "disk mode" type which will included all contents of the entire disk. Click on link 2 below and the first picture is a example of this type. Just instead of selection all indivdual partitons, click the 'switch to disk mode" option and the sysstem disk will be pre-selected.

The p;rogram does record disk id information so the storage disk must always be the same disk as was attached when the task was first created.
