HOPEFULLY, it failed before replacing any of your low-level drivers. Count your blessings that it didn't install and send it back for a refund before you really regret it!
Good Luck,

Although the userguide says you can install a new version over another (actually the ati2012 installer uninstalls the prior version); it's usually best to use Control Panel to uninstall an old version before intalling a new one.
If you have the plus plack you need to uninstall the plus pack, then ati, then install the new ati and then the new plus pack.
Roger is refering to the certain hardware drivers that ati2012 installs the are not removed when one uninstalls ati2012 or by the ati2012 cleaner. There is a thread about this issue. Iirc, prior versions also left stuff behind when one unstalled but ati2012 is reported to be more recalcitrant in this regard.
If ati2011 is working, you might want to stay with it until the time when, if ever, the bugs/issues in ati2012 are cleaned up.

Now isn't that a ringing endorsement; "When, if ever". ATI2012 failed miserably for me. And now I'm faced with additional problems with removing the SNAPI drivers. Your average Joe can't remove these drivers without bricking his/her computer and there is no uninstall utility by Acronis. I think I'm close to a handspan above the average Joe. There are specific instructions in the Acronis Knowledge base (http://kb.acronis.com/content/1620) But this part of the article confuses me:
More information (!) If you are using an NT-based Windows operating system (Windows NT 4.0 and higher), do not delete the driver files (SnapAPI.dll, Snapman.sys) manually from the disk (as opposed to removing them from the registry). This will make the system unbootable even with the "Last Known Good Configuration" option.
Can I remove the driver files mentioned in the article after changing the registry entries? Or do I have to keep the Acronis

on my computer? So now you know what I mean about bricking your computer. Those are rhetorical questions by the way. I don't expect them to be answered here. As I said before...Move on. The Acronis problems will persist and support can't keep up with all the problems. There are plenty of alternatives both paid and free.

Actually, Acronis has provided a cleanup utility for several versions. for ati2012 it's here
http://kb.acronis.com/content/24545
Some have objected that it doesn't remove some driver files that ati2012 installs and have resorted to renouninstaller or manually searching and scrubbing the registry and program directories.

I'm not sure about the sanp files. Those files might need to be replaced wtih non-ati versions rather than merely deleting.

Hello Eric, Joe and Scott!
Thank you for your comments. Scott, thank you for help.
Eric, thanks for providing the log. Unfortunately it wasn't really informative, and we'll need additional information. Here's what we can do in the current situation:
- Proceed with the clean reinstall:
- Remove current remains of Acronis True Image Home 2012 according to these instructions (already mentioned by Scott)
- Remove Acronis True Image Home 2011 installation as listed here
- Install ATIH2012 onto the clean machine - If you would like to avoid reinstallation, please provide us with the ProcMon log. It should be able to shed the light onto the situation
Let me know if you have any additional questions, I will be glad to help.
Thank you.
