Cannot restore specific files or folders from a backup (Acronis® True Image Home® version 11.0 (build 8,101))
I can't seem to restore the files I want from a 'Files and Folders' backup. I walk through the restore wizard, select the destination folder, and then I select the file or files I want to restore from the backup.tib file.
Regardless whether I choose one single file or a single folder, I always get a collection of files and folders that I don't want, such as most of the root of C:, also Program Files, and other folders, most of which are empty anyway.
What am I doing wrong? I just want to restore ONE file...but though I have tried repeatedly, I always get the same collection of junk restored.
Am I the only one to have this problem? It's quite annoying since I have done all the stuff I'm supposed to like validate the archive, etc etc....yet I can't get back the one file I need.
Would appreciate any assistance, FYI, I have searched all forums for similar problems and found nothing useful.

Attached is a PDF file containing screen shots of the step-by-step I did to restore one file...and what I actually got when completed. If you can tell me what I am doing wrong I appreciate it, thanks.

I don't see anything wrong with what you are doing. I will have to do a little more testing on my system to see if I can duplicate your results..
In the mean time, use Acronis to "explore" the archive, or "mount" the archive (from the backup and restore screen under "tools" on the left hand side of the screen), and just copy the file from the archive to the location you wish the file to be restored to. This will also give you a better look at what the archive contains.
Could be a bug in this version, but I'll test and be sure. Of course no fixes for this if it is indeed a bug.
On XP this is one of my favorite versions of True Image (along with v10).
